Located high in the North Pennines, the cottages are an ideal base for enjoying the outdoors, from a leisurely walk to a more adventurous bike ride, the surrounding countryside offers it all and so much more.
The A686 from Penrith in Cumbria to Corbridge in Northumberland, which passes through Alston, was chosen by the AA Magazine as one of their ‘Ten Great Drives’. Between Alston and Melmerby, the road climbs the Hartside Pass to a height of 1904 ft, from where there are magnificent views across the Solway Firth to Scotland. This long and steep climb also forms part of the Sea to Sea Cycle Route.
The cottages are an ideal base for enjoying the outdoors, from a leisurely walk to a more adventurous bike ride, the surrounding countryside offers it all and so much more, and as we are dog friendly cottages, you can bring your pet with you to experience some of the fantastic scenery in Cumbria.
A Galley kitchen offers an electric cooker, fridge /freezer, microwave washer/dryer and dishwasher. There is a w/c and washbasin on the ground floor. The kitchen is equipped to cater for up to four people.
The living room has a beamed ceiling, a wood effect electric stove, sofa, reclining chair and single folding bed. TV/DVD and Guest Wi-Fi is provided. There is another dining table and chairs within the living room.
Upstairs are a double bedroom with Kingsize bed and a single bedroom, both with wardrobes and bedside cabinets.
The shower room has w/c and washbasin as well as a shower which has grab rails and a folding seat fitted.
There is a stair lift fitted to the staircase for the less mobile.
Folding cot and high chair available on request.

Parking for one car is available near the cottage with additional cars by arrangement.
Electricity and oil-fired central heating are included.
